Excelsior is trademarked

The comic looks really nice. I'll definitely be checking it out. Just a heads up: I believe that Stan Lee has trademarked the word "Excelsior" for all uses related to comics. I also believe he's sued people before, and won. Might be something to look into. And I could be wrong, so don't take my word on it -- it's just something I think I remember having read about, but don't remember where.

I haven't been able to find any reference to such a case through Google (at least... not immediately). If anyone can point me toward it, please do.

For some reason I was under the impression that you couldn't copyright words that already exist. According to dictionary.com it comes from a Latin word.

Then again, maybe it'd be a good thing if he sued. We could use the traffic :)

All I could find is Stan's

All I could find is Stan's 1998 employment contract at marvel (! -- what a cool thing to find online -- !) which includes language that states that he owns the word, because he's copyrighted and trademarked it, but that he grants Marvel a non-exclusive right to use it (presumably meaning he has the power to grant that right, and presumably, too, meaning he has the power to not grant that right). Just about anything can be put in a contract, and if both parties agree, well, there you go.

What? Excelsior trademarked?!
