Comic books are evil,

Comic books are evil, because they spread ideas, and not very well drawn. Comics DO NOT teach your children good taste in art and literature. For that, you'd have to go to the Kama Sutra.

Comics dealing with "wicked acts"? Really?

Wow, how long ago was this written, really?

Comics can inspire our imagination and points of view, but they are not the root of all evil! Please, everyone knows that that title belongs to video games...they corrupt the mind of our youth and are out to steal away our souls!

J/k. What a strange world we live in...

Charles Nelson Riley?

That's a strange person to pull from the top of your head! Why him?

I shall be petitioning my local library to organise a public burning of any comics on its shelves immediately!

Along with any copies of Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and The Wizard of Oz that it may still be harbouring at the back of the stockroom.

I'd hazard a wild guess it's all tongue-in-cheek. Except my post, of course. We don't burn nearly enough books these days. Or witches. Or books about witches.

In fact Witchblade should be the first comic on the pyre!

BY "that all" do you mean

BY "that all" do you mean the linked-to post or just the Charles Nelson Riley comments? If you're asking about the original post, it is 100% accurate. Sadly I've still got the book. And the original page scan is linked in the LJ post. Neal ape-law.com/hypercomics

Not possible to delete

You can edit it out, but there's too many problems with letting people delete their posts (like deleting all of the reply comments below...)

On second thought, let's not go to Comixpedia. It is a silly place.

Xaviar Xerexes Oh yeah... this place is called ComixTalk now.

Yeah, none of these posts are serious

As a comic artist, I doubt I should be petitioning my own work. So yes, tongue-in-cheek! Tongue-in-cheek all over the damn place...

Burn those comics

Is burning a comic like burning the artist and/or writer in effigy? It definitely saves money on fabric and stuffing.
