Go get your free comic books! I stopped by the Big Planet store in Georgetown which was not only a nice store but was letting folks pick up 10 of the free comic books each. That seems awfully generous compared to other stores I've checked out in past years.
It's also Online Comics Day or as I still think of it -- Webcomics Awareness Day. Either way go check it out!

I had a similar experience
I had a similar experience in Comic Relief in Berkeley. We got there late and they were letting people take more and more books as the day went on. They were up to 7 when we got ours.
However, we stopped by a smaller shop before that one, and they were out of everything except for Gumby, Archie and Spiderman.
Suggestion: Graphic Smash should do FCBD Next Year
Of all the sites/groups in webcomicland that seemingly would appeal to the core demographic of comic book shops I would think Graphic Smash would be the one. They really could flip the point of FCBD on its head (FCBD is supposed to be about luring new customers into the shop) and use it to market new comics to existing customers.

On second thought, let's not go to Comixpedia. It is a silly place.
I went to a local store
I went to a local store first thing in the morning, and they had lots of comics... except for the Keenspot sampler and Comic Genesis issue. They ordered everything else, but those two were conspicuous in their absence.
Anyone want to send me the Keenspot and Comic Genesis comics?
