I didn't, but apparently Adventures of Spawn is online here. I'm not to hip on the layout, but it is interesting to see comic book giants slowly coming to webcomics. It looks like this effort is primarily to sell a toy line, but still, it's very interesting...
Makes me wonder if the long time webcomic veterans couldn't better help these established publishers usher their works onto the web in a better manner.

Interesting. It's nice that they produced new material, instead of just re-representing old stuff on the web. As for format, it does look like they could have studied what other webcomics are doing successfully. Â

Spawn
Wow! I haven't read any "Spawn" for years. It's interesting they've made the move onto the web at all but, storywise, they seem to have jettisoned what originality there was in the original character in favour of making him a more "traditional" kind of super hero. (But then, maybe they've done that in the print comics, too ... as I say, it's been a while!)
I'm not convinced this will do much to further the cause of either "Spawn" or webcomics but it is intriguing to see an established property crossing the divide. If other big names were to follow (and if they were to remain free), it would be interesting to see how many web-originated titles would be able to stand their ground (or, more specifically, retain their readership).
Interesting times.

The style's actually pretty web friendly. The lettering is a bit too small, and they really gotta ditch the pop-up - so lame.
But it has potential. Any idea how well it's doing with the fan-base?

Small Lettering Unacceptable!
Small or illegible lettering is probably the biggest, stupidest mistake you can make on the web. They got rework that if they're serious about building traffic for this.

This is why I was curious... McFarlane is a pretty smart businessman, I thought a spawn "webcomic" would be a bit better than this, I mean, if they took the level of art usually in the comics and applied it to even a weekly web installment, they could have something there, but it looks like they're just putting this comic book online and the lettering is a bit off.
I have no doubt that if they brought the normal level of art quality to the fold, they'd have a huge audience-- right now, it looks like they're only targeted audience is people already at the site, which does make some sense, but seems kinda limited to me.
