Building from the bottom

I finally started my first comic, which was wondrously met by crickets chirping and the general support of a few of my friends. Thanks to Webcomics Nation I was able to begin posting immediately instead of waiting until I was a competent HTML programmer. I have high hopes for "Ninja [LIVE]" and wish for a growing fan base, but alas I too must pay my dues. Though it's not a necessity I would like to try generating some hype for those web comics that first inspired me to take up the trade: Ctrl+Alt+Del, MegaTokyo, Applegeeks, Shortpacked!, Red String, Questionable Content, Real Life, and You'll Have That, just to name a few. All of these are worthwhile and I wish for them success. As for my own venture, we'll see, it will just keep on chugging.

Couldn't have said it better myself...

Way to go, Danny Way! You're absolutely right. I'm new to the whole webcomics thing, but I've been reading them for years and those artists are what inspired me to start my own webcomic.

Although, I'm going to have to add "Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire" to that list. And for those who haven't read that comic yet, you need to go over there right away and READ it!

As for us newbies, the best we can do is support one another until we get our own ventures off the ground. These things take time, often years, before any success is shown. I know I'm excited (and a little too eager), but only time will tell.

Good Luck, and Props to those who have come before us to inspire us.

I've acctually read DD for a year. The story line is one of the best out there.
