So I’ve got valid excuses. We all do. Hence, naturally, quitting the comic has crossed my mind.

More than once.

More often than not, if I enter a challenging period while on the path to a goal (or while trying to maintain consistency in an endeavor) my first response is to put on my Plugger Hat and see if I can weather the phase. After giving it some time, and more effort than is usually necessary, the transient nature of things prevails and, if it really was something I wanted to do, I’ll usually be enjoying it again. If it wasn’t, it’ll suffer the fate that comes with being the transient thing itself. Either way, I move on.

But sometimes it’s not just the passage of time that rewards stick-to-itiveness, or allows the perspective to cut a goal or project loose. Sometimes there’s something that happens during a Plugger Period that, in retrospect, can be seen for what it was: the deciding factor.

With that, I’d like to say thank you to the readers who've been the deciding factor for their favorite comic artists by taking the time to let a body know his/her efforts are appreciated. Kind words in any form go a long way. Simply put, they can keep writers writing and artists artting. Have you hugged your favorite comic artists lately? There’s a good chance you’ll be assuring yourself of more comics... and an even better chance you’ll be making their day.
