My 2007 webcomic awards

The "I Came Out Of Nowhere" Webcomic 2007

Octopus Pie

Whoever actually discovered it first is still a mystery. To be honest, how I found it is a mystery itself. I'm sure it was linked somewhere but technically it was linked at so many places in such a small amount of time that it suddenly became a hit, but then again it was a hit in the first place! The writing, drawing, etc. is fantastic and great from strip 1 onwards! It even brought out a book, that's how impressive it was!

The Kid's Book Project: The End Is Nigh

Kid's Book Page

The Kid's Book Project has been pre-ordering since early this year. Quite a lot of people have bought it and there's only a few copies remaining to actually be sold. With a lot of stress the book is hopefully gonna get done and printed before the 11th December.

Two Left, One Book To Go

The Kid's Book Project is only two pages away from the end which means that soon enough the pre-order page will change as the book will be finally get ready to get printed with the wonderful cover by Liz Greenfield. The wonderful pages, all 55 artists have contributed to one individual page, all spanning either backwards or forwards.

Tastefully Done 2008 - At It Again

Tastefully Done 2008 Calendar

Webcomic artists at their finest, with their clothes off, is hopefully gonna be an utterly delightful success like last year.

For the price of $15 and through the lulu.com website, Tastefully Done warns you to bare witness to the outstanding artwork that can only be contained in one calendar, we give you Tastefully Done 2008!

The Kid's Book Project

In February 2007 the Kid's Book Project had one question to answer: "can a group of 50 webcomic artists band together to make a story?" After gathering a ton of artists together, all of which doing it for the Make-A-Wish Foundation International, the Kid's Book Project set about doing just that, finding out whether a group could make a story. The challenge was that they could only see the page previous to their own and there would be two groups - one going from the start and one going backwards from the end.

The Kid's Book Project is nearing its climatic final with only 10 artists left to don their pages. The cover, just released today, is created by the talented Liz Greenfield who had the hardest challenge of creating a cover without even seeing the inside of it. Each book costs £6 and all profits go directly towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation. There will only be 500 printed, so if you don't get one you probably never will.

The first 100 pre-orders will get a signed printed "thank you" letter from all the artists ranging from Frank Page, Ryan North, Mitch Clem, Brandon J Carr and many many extremely talented people all helping the Make-A-Wish Foundation gain some much needed funds!

So if you haven't already, pre-order your copy today because as soon as they've gone, you'll never find out the answer - "can webcomic artists create a good enough story?"

Dates The Word 2008

Tastefully Done 2007

Last year 13 artists drew their webcomic creations nude all for Cancer Research UK and this year they're at it again, this time drawing themselves "baring all". But inside we're still after reaching 100 webcomic artist's birthdays.
