So you've posted your webcomic for all the world to see and waited patiently for thousands of adoring fans to show up on your virtual doorstep and bury you in flowers and accolades. Then you've waited...and waited. After a few months you begin to wonder, ok am I completely wrong about this work? I mean sure I love it, and all my friends and family tell me it's brilliant, so where the heck is everybody?
"Ghoulfriends" - Issue 6 of The Paranormals deals in great part with the character Persephone, and her continuing struggles with her new identity as an outcast.
I have to admit that I have problems with the character. There's nothing wrong with her per se, mind you, it's just that I feel so profoundly little in common with her. Rose I get, I understand her desire to fit in, the tomboy, the girl who's taller than the boys in her class, a girl who can't help attracting attention even when she really, really doesn't want to. That I understand, 'cause heck, that was me growing up... save for the werewolf part.
Issue 5 of The Paranormals is our quiet character-driven story. No big bad monsters or incredible fight sequences. Instead there are revelations a'plenty, including the first real appearance of our secret organization Arcanom.
