I notice that they got the "first online comic" wrong...

I wonder why so many people seem to think that it's always either Argon Zark or Sluggy?

Well, Argon Zark was neither the first on the Internet nor the first on the Web... those are credited to "Where the Buffalo Roam" (1991)and "Dr. Fun" (1993), which you pointed out.

Argon Zark WAS, however, one of the first online comics to play with animation, hyperlinking, and other funky little tricks -- i.e., it wasn't just a print comic scanned into a digital format.

Heh. I should be happy that they even WROTE something on webcomics, I suppose -- Burt *did* offer up fairly accurate info, and certainly it makes for a not-so-awful intro for the uninitiated...

I just hate when people get little things wrong -- comics and webcomics suffer from too many misconceptions as is, and we don't need to propagate any new ones, no matter how harmless they may seem. ^_^

It all depends on what your terms are. Argon Zark may have been the first comic on the web (although I think that's often claimed by Doctor Fun, right?). Online includes all internet protocols I guess. Digital might mean CD-ROMs, right?
